Mosul Museum Library, which was one of the first targets of the terrorist organization ISIS that seized Mosul in June 2014, has an important place in the world heritage.

Hundreds of handwritten books that have been written since the early years of Islam were burned by terrorists. The museum, one of the most important centers of the Islamic civilization that has welcomed scientists for years, was demolished in 2014, along with the 100-year-old library building.

The United Nations Security Council condemned the burning of the Mosul Library, a library consisting of thousands of book, which was located in the city of Mosul, occupied by ISIS , on February 27th.

The library had more than 10 thousand books, at least 700 rare manuscripts and many works of the Ottoman period.
